The Smashing Pumpkins have officially announced a major 2026 North American arena tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their legendary double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
The newly announced run, titled “The Rats in a Cage Tour,” will feature a unique two-set performance format each night.
Special Mellon Collie Set Planned for Every Show

The second half of each show will feature rotating material pulled from nearly four decades of Smashing Pumpkins music, including:
- Classic hits
- Fan favorites
- Deep cuts
- Songs spanning from Gish through Aghori Mhori Mei
Frontman Billy Corgan explained that the band had discussed creating a Mellon Collie-focused live production for more than a decade before finally moving forward with the idea.
He described the upcoming concerts as a way to celebrate both the album’s legacy and the wider Smashing Pumpkins catalog with changing setlists from city to city.
